Adventure Guide

I’m a travel and adventure guide with more than 20 years of experience leading educational tours through national parks, museums, archaeological sites, and historic locations across the United States and around the world. My work brings together geology, archaeology, Egyptology, biblical history, natural history, and Christian apologetics in places where history and landscape can be experienced firsthand.

Much of my guiding life has been shaped by the Grand Canyon and my work with Canyon Ministries, a Grand Canyon-based tour and teaching ministry that has been leading biblical creation tours since 1997. I have been part of Canyon Ministries since 2014, including five years as Executive Director. I now serve as Director of Ministry Outreach, a role that gives me more opportunity to travel, guide, speak, and teach through field tours, churches, conferences, museums, and ministry events.

The Grand Canyon has been one of my greatest classrooms. I have spent more than 1,000 days teaching in Grand Canyon National Park, both along the rim and on the river, including more than 50 multi-day rafting expeditions and hundreds of nights camped along the banks of the Colorado River. Whether standing at an overlook, hiking into the canyon, or teaching from a raft on the river, I love helping people understand the canyon’s geology, fossils, archaeology, natural history, and biblical significance.

Beyond the Grand Canyon, I have conducted research and guided throughout the American Southwest, including national parks, monuments, museums, archaeological sites, and geological locations across Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and beyond. These landscapes include canyons, deserts, volcanic fields, fossil beds, ancient Native American sites, and many of the places that make the Colorado Plateau one of the most remarkable outdoor classrooms in the world.

I have also led educational tours through dozens of other national parks, museums, and historic sites around the nation. In museums, I often teach on biblical archaeology, Egyptology, ancient civilizations, church history, geology, fossils, and science. Whether in a gallery, on a trail, beside an artifact, or standing at the edge of a canyon, my goal is to make complex subjects clear, meaningful, and memorable.

Internationally, I am the founder and Tour Director of London Christian Tours, where I lead guests through London’s rich connections to science, church history, biblical archaeology, and some of the city’s most iconic historic and cultural sites. These tours include places such as the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and other major landmarks throughout the city.

I am also the founder of Egypt Christian Tours, which offers biblically focused tours through Egypt. These tours explore the world of the pharaohs, ancient Egyptian history, archaeology, geology, and sites connected with the Bible. Some of the locations we visit includes places like Cairo, Giza, Saqqara, Faiyum Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Aswan, the Red Sea, and the eastern Nile Delta region traditionally associated with Goshen.

At the heart of what I do is a desire to help people connect places, artifacts, landscapes, history, and Scripture. I love teaching in real places, with real objects and real landscapes in front of us, because those experiences have a way of making history come alive and helping people see the world with fresh eyes.Compass

Speaker & Teacher

I often travel and speak at universities, churches, conferences, ministries, podcasts, and educational events on topics related to geology, creation science, biblical archaeology, Egyptology, and the history of the ancient Near East. My talks are designed to help people connect Scripture, history, science, and real-world places in a way that is clear, engaging, and memorable.

Most of my speaking has grown out of years spent teaching in the field — standing on canyon rims, walking through museum galleries, examining artifacts, and leading people through places where history feels tangible. I love taking those same experiences into churches, conferences, universities, and podcasts, helping audiences think more deeply about Scripture, science, archaeology, and the ancient world.

You can watch examples of my conference presentations, church talks, interviews, and podcast appearances on my YouTube channel.

Reach out and let me know if you’d like me to come speak at your location anytime. No cost beyond travel expenses!

Researcher & Writer

I have always enjoyed exploring the places where Scripture, history, archaeology, and the natural world meet. Over the years, I have written educational articles and personal reflections for various websites, ministries, and magazines, often focusing on biblical history, archaeology, geology, creation science, travel, and the stories behind the places where I travel and guide.

My academic journey began with graduating from Bible college in the early 2000s, and in more recent years I have continued post-graduate studies and research in Ancient Civilizations, Biblical Archaeology, and Egyptology. These areas of study have helped shape much of my writing, speaking, and tour work, especially in relation to Egypt, the ancient Near East, and the historical setting of the Bible.

Some of my current and developing book projects include:

    • Shepherd Kings: The Hebrew Hyksos and Israel’s Arrival in Egypt
    • The Landmark Exodus: Tracing the Biblical Route from Egypt to Sinai
    • Nimrod and Narmer: The Egyptian-Mesopotamian Connection

Travel Photographer

My photography has grown out of the places I love and explore through travel, guiding, and outdoor adventure. From canyon rims and desert trails to ancient ruins, museums, rivers, mountains, and cities around the world, I love capturing the beauty, history, and wonder of the places I have the privilege to visit.

Many of these images come from incredible landscapes in God’s created world — places I did not make, but have simply had the opportunity to witness and photograph. Because of that, I make my travel and landscape photography available royalty-free with proper attribution.

My work has been featured by National Geographic, PBS, USA Today, the National Park Service, and more.
